Homes for Sale in Tolar, Texas
If you are considering relocating and looking to buy a home or land in a small friendly town conveniently located at the crossroads of U.S. Highway 377 and FM 56 about one hour southwest of Fort Worth, seven miles northeast to Granbury, southeast to Glen Rose and Stephenville; Tolar would be perfect for you.
It was settled around 1890, when the tracks of the Fort Worth and Rio Grande Railway reached the area. Tolar was named by W.L. McGaughey in honor of his friend Alf Tolar. Tolar prospered as a ranching and farming center around the late 1800’s and soon had shops, schools and churches. Petrified wood found in the area was used to build several of the buildings in Tolar. Today Tolar offers residents a safe family friendly environment and a great school district.
Whether choosing to buy a home in a small town or purchasing acreage for a country life or thinking of selling, Preferred Properties of Texas can help.
