Case Horton Owner/Broker of Preferred Properties of Texas

In Real Estate Local Knowledge Matters:

I’ve been around the real estate business in Stephenville, Texas and the Cross Timbers region most of my life, and I genuinely enjoy helping people find the right property—whether that’s a home in town, acreage just outside the city, or a working ranch in Erath County.

As a graduate of Tarleton State University with a BBA in Marketing and a Master’s in Operations, I combine local knowledge with a practical, results-driven approach to real estate. Growing up working in my family’s business, Tanglewood Pharmacy & Medical Supplies, and spending time on our family ranch south of Stephenville with my dad and granddad, I learned early on the value of hard work, consistency, and doing right by people. That’s the same mindset I bring to every client I serve.

Through years of hands-on experience—and plenty of time spent outdoors hunting, fishing, and working land across Texas—I’ve developed a deep understanding of farm and ranch properties in Stephenville and the surrounding communities. That local insight matters, especially in a market where acreage, improvements, water, and location can significantly impact what a property could sell for. In today’s Stephenville market, homes in town often move faster than rural properties, while acreage pricing can vary significantly depending on location, improvements, and access to utilities.

What Impacts What Your Home Could Sell For in Stephenville:

  • Location (in town vs outside city limits)
  • Acreage size
  • Improvements (barns, shops, wells)
  • Condition & updates
  • Current buyer demand

When I’m not working with clients, you’ll find me spending time outdoors or with my family—usually watching my kids’ activities and appreciating everything that makes this area such a great place to live.

The Cross Timbers region, including Stephenville and Erath County, offers a unique mix of small-town living, strong community, and opportunity—whether you’re looking to buy a home, invest in land, or sell a property.

If you’re considering buying or selling in Stephenville or the surrounding areas, I’d be glad to help guide you through the process.
