There’s something special about Saturday mornings in Downtown Stephenville. On the first Saturday of every month, March through October, locals and visitors alike gather at the Stephenville Farmers & Artisan Market in the Plaza on Main Street for a lively celebration of community, creativity, and good old-fashioned Texas charm. The market is open from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, but the fun starts even earlier.

Start your day with Cars & Coffee at 8:00 AM in the courthouse parking lot. In the Plaza, enjoy the sounds of live music by Cate Gartner, creating the perfect soundtrack to your morning stroll as you meander through the Farmers and Artisan Market.

🎨 One of the market’s must-see attractions is local artist Jerrel Sustaita, known as Live Local Artist. Jerrel doesn’t just sell his artwork—he paints live on-site, often creating one-of-a-kind oil sketch portraits while you watch. This is a rare opportunity to buy art directly from the artist, cutting out gallery markups and making personal connections with the creatives behind the work.

🛍️ The market features a wide variety of vendors offering:

  • Handmade soaps and body products
  • Handcrafted lemonade, specialty drinks, and candies
  • Delicious breads and pastries, all made from scratch
  • Fresh eggs, locally raised meats, and seasonal produce
  • Unique, handcrafted goods and gifts from local artisans

Whether you’re shopping for farm-fresh ingredients, hunting for the perfect handmade gift, or simply soaking in the community spirit, the First Saturday Farmers & Artisan Market is a can’t-miss event.

🌿 Looking for even more local flavor?
Don’t miss the Purple Tractor Farmers Market, held on the third Saturday of every month, year-round. It’s another excellent chance to support local farmers, food producers, and makers in a warm, welcoming setting.

Stephenville’s market scene is more than just shopping—it’s an experience. From live art and music to fresh food and friendly faces, there’s no better way to kick off your month. See you at the Plaza!
